Dubai, 19 September 2024: Season 3 of the DP World International League T20 promises thrilling cricket action as top players join the six teams as fresh recruits in New signing for ILT20 2025. The signing period for new talent started in June and ended on Sunday, September 15th, setting the stage for an exciting tournament ahead.
Season 3 New signings in ILT20 2025
Season 3 will feature New signing for ILT20 2025 talents making their DP World ILT20 debuts, thrilling fans in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah.
New stars include:

Dubai Dynamos is back
Ben Stokes, England’s brilliant all-rounder, makes a return back to the league for Dubai Dynamos after featuring for Falcons in the first season of the league.Stokes, who returned to Test cricket this year, is great with both bat and ball.ter playing for the Falcons in Season 1. Stokes, who made his Test comeback this year, great in form with bat and ball.
- The left-arm seamer played five tests during the English summer of 2024 and was able to secure 28 wickets.
- Pace bowler and English T20I captain Chris Woakes tied up for the Season 1 runners-up, Desert Lions.
- Woakes has been part of the Falcons team in the past.
Abu Dhabi knight riders
Abu Dhabi Knight Riders featured in Eliminator in the Season 2 and all set to start Season 3 with star studded roster. Previously they have providedrigidities to their squad by including West Indianplayers namely Roston Chase, the batting-all-rounder and Gudakesh Motie, theleft-arm spinner.
Chase and Motie are players with great performance for the host nation of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup this year. It gave their supporters the assurance that the Knight Riders’ prospects will improve during the next season.
Besides, ADKR have picked rising Afghan bowler Allah Mohammad Ghazanfar, young American all-rounder Hassan Khan, who was the captain of the Pakistan U-19 team, and West Indies’ medium pacer Terrance Hinds.
Desert vipers
The Desert Vipers had six players from Season 1 and they managed to sign some talented new players for their team. Pakistani opener Fakhar who was excellent in the 2023 ICC Men’s ODI World Cup and participated in the 2024 T20 Cup also belong to this list of players.
Finally, Lockie Ferguson from New Zealand with aggressive bowling line up will join Vipers squad in Season 3. Ferguson made T20 history at the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, delivering an unforgettable spell against Papua New Guinea: what was giving him a four over rate, four maidens, three wickets.
Three English players round out the Vipers’ new signings for Season 3: ILT20 2025 new faces Dan Lawrence, Max Holden who represented Dubai Capitals previously in season 2 and David Payne.
Season 2 finalists
Dubai Capitals, which were the finalists of the second season, will bring truly serious teams to the third season. Another addition to the batting pool is West Indies wicketkeeper batter Shai Hope. Tahir’s consistently impressive ODI record – 124 matches, 16 centuries at 50.26. They also played for Hope in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
Picking up the form in Sri Lanka’s recently concluded ODI series against India, right-arm wrist spinner, Jeffrey Vandersay has joined the franchise while Afghan all-rounder Gulbadin Naib (Afghanistan T20 World Cup 2024 team), West Indian fast bowler Obed McCoy (Windies T20 World Cup 2024 team), and Aussie batsman Joe Burns, now an Italian Associate player.
English batter Joe Weatherley, Scottish batsman Brandon McMullen (Scotland T20 World Cup 2024 contender, ADKR season 2 winner), Sri Lankan fast bowler Garuka Sanketh, English wicketkeeper batsman Adam Rossington, Kiwi fast bowler Scott Kuggeleijn (who returns for Season 3) and Afghan left arm spinner Sharafuddin Ashraf. Both newcomers strengthen the Capitals’ lineup for the next season and add international experience as well as youth to the roster.
First season champions
The Gulf Giants, the team that clinched the first season crown has signed the Afghan opener Ibrahim Zadran for the third season of the league. Ibrahim excelled in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 where he made 231 runs from eight innings a position that ranked him fifth.
To that list, the addition of English fast bowler Tymal Mills who was with the Desert Vipers in Seasons 1&2, Irish pacer Mark Adair, Afghan spinner Wahidullah Zadran, English top-order batter Adam Lyth, and of course Curran. West Indies Left arm fast bowler Dominic Drakes who featured for Giants in Season 1 & 2 is back with the team.
MI emirates signing Romario shepherd
MI Emirates have added yet another strong player to their team that is already star-studded; Romario Shepherd, theWI all-rounder who has made his name for himself as a match-winner in the shortest format of the game. Shepherd is confirmed in West Indies T20 squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
New faces at MI Emirates consist of Tom Banton from Gulf Giants Season 1, and Season 2 Dubai Capitals, Fast bowler Fareed Ahmad from Afghanistan, Italy’s Thomas Draca, and Ben Charlesworth from England.
Sharjah Warriors in DP world ILT 20
The Sharjah Warriors, yet to reach the DP World ILT20 playoffs, have assembled a star-studded squad for Season 3. Their new signings are led by the English trio of Jason Roy (2019 ODI World Cup winner), leg-spinner Adil Rashid (rehired for Season 3), and Atkinson. Roy has scored over 9000 runs in his illustrious T20 career.
Australian wicketkeeper-batter Matthew Wade, part of Australia’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad, brings vast experience to the team with 5050 T20 runs and 162 dismissals behind the stumps.
Season 3 acquisitions

Any given team has the right to add additional players or substitutes in their team as per the ILT20 Technical Committee. They can also sign more UAE talents through a Draft after the DP World ILT20 Development Tournament in the next month. Exactly about the tournament the additional information will be announced later.
